Chamber Music Program
Chamber music study at Third Street provides an opportunity for students to work with Third Street instructors in the intimacy of a smaller group setting. Our chamber music groups emphasize group collaboration, personal growth, goal setting and structured classes with expert chamber music coaches.
Third Street’s Chamber Music ensembles meet throughout the academic year in three 10-week rotations. Each ensemble receives one hour of coaching and instruction taught by Third Street’s Chamber Music Faculty coaches. In addition to weekly coaching, Chamber Music students receive feedback in guest master classes throughout the year with professional chamber musicians and groups.
Chamber Music is open for all instrument and voice students aged 7-18 with at least 2-3 years of experience.

Summer
Workshop
July 2025
Explore small ensemble performance with Third Street’s popular Summer Chamber Music Workshop. Students will be immersed in small ensembles through daily ensemble rehearsals and activities that explore the world of small ensemble performance.
Students will engage with guest artists in masterclasses, explore performance preparation techniques, including body awareness and mental preparation, as well as musicianship classes and team-building activities with a focus on collaboration.
The workshop will conclude with a public performance.
Workshop Schedule
Weekdays, 9:30am - 3:30pm
Monday, July 7 - Friday, July 18
Zoom placement auditions are required for any students who have not previously participated in Third Street Chamber Music over the past two years. Students returning to the Third Street Chamber Music program or Summer Workshop do not need to audition.
Summer Chamber Music Audition requirements:
- One-piece, own choice demonstrating proficiency in technique, musicianship, and reading abilities
- Sight reading
- Students may be asked to demonstrate knowledge of scales and arpeggios but are not required
